Hey all, is Senpaimod/CrossFortune/Staci here.

I'm going to be out of state for a bunch of this week owing to a death in the family. I know I've been slow already so this likely won't change much but I just wanted folks to know if you @ me or message me and I don't respond for a while, this is it. This will affect Reboot Jim Kirk, Steve here, Nike and i think thats everyone with active threads at the moment.

Tags will probably still sporadically happen as I try to keep my mind off of things but I will for sure be out of town at least for a couple days later this week.

Please reach out to Teacosyghost or Labrathor for any mod requests for the time being. I'll be back next week.

I am legit getting sick with something, the primary symptoms being fatigue and brain fog to an unusual degree for me. I'm not really going to take a break from tagging, and I'm always pretty slow, but I wanted to put this up to make people aware I may be slower than normal.

This affects all of my active muses, and I think most regulars to the comm know which ones those are, but the ones with the most current threads are this Loki, [personal profile] eumenis, and [personal profile] coffee_elf.

Welcome to February's Plot Roundup!

As always, Please Read The Post before replying.

It’s back to bring you a chance to kick back with more delicious spyreading! A lot has been happening for the characters of the Nexus both in and outside the main comm! We’re inviting you to show your fellow players what your characters have been getting up to! Simply follow the format below and tag with a plot summary and links to the relevant prose and threads – then enjoy checking out the latest storylines! Just make sure to check out our handy FAQ below.

If you have new threads to an Older plot, please link to your previous plot roundup in the plot summary rather than listing it twice.

----------

Submit One Comment per character with a collection of links (in chronological order) to important threads they have been a part of as well as a summary of the plot involved. In the subject of the comment include your character's name.

Why do we do this? For spy-reading, of course! It helps everyone in the comm stay abreast of each other's plots, especially as the size of our comm grows. It's also a good way to make sure your hard work is admired by others.

What is relevant: Any prose, private storyline/plot pieces, monthly prompts, community threads, or solo pieces which took place on personal journals or which were reposted onto personal journals from chat apps, etc. The pieces must be considered canon for characters as they are played in the Nexus (ie: No links to memes which were just for fun, etc.) If important Nexus-Canon development has occurred in a meme post that thread MUST be linked here to be considered canon in game, but submissions from other DW games are not allowed under any circumstance. All submitted links should be considered significant to your character's growth or a plot in some way.

For community posts you must link to the important threads you wish to submit. We want to encourage people to spy-read the best parts of your characters' lore and to do that we need to be able to point to where these happened. No one is going to read through a 500+ comment party post for one thread your character was in. Please keep this in mind! The only exception to this is if your character made a top-level Nexus post that has multiple important threads. Please feel free in that case to only link the post once, but the summary Must include which threads are must-reads and why!

How should I list my threads? Please utilize a title for each link to label each submission using the < a href... formatting. This will help cut down on the confusion of having just a list of raw links with no indication as to what each of them is for.

For an example of what a submission should look like Check out Liv's post from the last Roundup!

Finally:

Each thread should be submitted only once per player so if you have multiple muses involved in a single thread make mention to who else they impact on the first submission of a thread and then perhaps refer to that in the next character's summary!

Last Sunday, the mod team took action against one of our active players for multiple offenses involving anti-LGBTQA posts and comments she has pressed upon other players during her time in game. We were not aware of the extent to which she had been making our players uncomfortable until specific behavior was brought to our attention, some of which had been done through private messaging or otherwise hidden from public view. We extend our thanks to the community for letting us know this was happening, as well as for your understanding and cooperation in our investigation. We have now spoken directly to all players who we know to be involved; our apologies if we have missed someone we were not aware of. At this time, the offending player and all her known accounts have been banned from our main community, OOC comm, and the Discord server.

This player's behavior far exceeds the bounds of what we expect our players to handle on their own, and it is always appropriate to message a moderator if another player's behavior makes you uncomfortable. We take the safety of our player base very seriously, and bringing matters like these to our attention means that we will be able to investigate and address these situations as soon as possible. At this time we are in the midst of revising the rules to make this more clear, as well as set down in writing some previously unspoken yet understood norms and courtesies.

Until those rules are finalized, we would like to re-emphasize:

- If another player makes you feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, or is hostile to you, please message one of the moderators to bring this to our attention.

- Hate speech, harassment, and bullying will not be tolerated. This is currently detailed in rule 6 here. We want to make it clear that this extends to players' behavior outside the bounds of our dreamwidth community and Discord.

- It is healthy to set boundaries for yourself and to make them clear to others. If another player willfully violates those boundaries after being made aware of them, this is worthy of moderator attention.

- You always have the right to decline interaction with another player's character, regardless of if you have previously or currently have plot with them.

Part of the purpose of the moderator team is to be here to address player concerns as they arise, and we will never be upset with anyone making a report to us in good faith. The safety and mental health of our players is a top priority for us at all times. If you have any comments or concerns, you can PM any of the moderators directly at [personal profile] labrathor, [personal profile] teacosyghost, or [personal profile] iam_senpai, or you can DM us on the Discord server. We are here to help.

Comments to this entry will be screened.

Welcome one and all, new players and old, to the rebirth of Plot Round-up!

We have completely revamped this from its original creation so even if you've been here a while Please Read The Post before replying. This will be the format of the Plot Round-up going forward. Please note any changes are not retroactive so do not fret if old submissions are no longer above board as it were. This is the ruleset we will be using from now on.

It’s been a while since we organized one of these, but it’s back to bring you a chance to kick back with more delicious spyreading! A lot has been happening for the characters of the Nexus both in and outside the main comm! Once again we’re inviting you to show your fellow players what your characters have been getting up to! Simply follow the format below and tag with a plot summary and links to the relevant prose and threads – then enjoy checking out the latest storylines! Just make sure to check out our handy FAQ below.

Since we haven't had one of these in a while for This Post anything that is important throughout 2020 will be considered appropriate for submission. Going forward we will be doing monthly plot roundups and at that time only new or ongoing threads will be considered appropriate to submit.

Hello again Nexus-goers, it's that time of year once again! In previous years we have had winter holiday events from all sorts of universes, from Hogwarts to Norse Yule to Lucifer himself. This year, our official Nexus winter holiday event is going to be a bit more low-key, a smaller moment of reflection and friendship as a Light against the Dark, as the Guardians bring the Dawning to the Nexus.

On December 17th, there will be a booth set up in the Nexus thoroughfare to bake and hand out cookies to all passersby, and offer an opportunity to light a floating lantern if you so desire. The spirit of giving and warmth is the core of the Dawning, and if friends wish to meet up here to exchange gifts, they are welcome to do so.

This is intended to be a small scale event this year, a small center of calm and peace as we usher out the year that was 2020.
