handcockUgh, screwy laptop. But anyway work has been driving me crazy for the past few days, and I have a brewing family emergency. So slow tags for the win!

This cute girl here is Mai Kashiwagi. She's a young mutant, whose power is being suppressed by something her scientist father implanted into her wrist. People like her, Contractors, are feared and would be seen as the scum of the earth in her world.
Kōzō, her father, did what he felt he had to do to give her a chance in living a happy normal life. He erased a chunk of her memory with the top secret technology and implanted a seed from a plant that's not meant to survive outside the radioactive area that's behind the massive wall most people aren't allowed to go past.
The problems caused by Kōzō's actions are this; Mai doesn't know what's happening to her! She has no idea what Contractors are, let alone the fact that she's been in the Moratorium state; the in between regular human and Contractor state. It's been that way ever since she was a little girl, sometime after her ability was first developing. Her power of pyrokinesis isn't something she has control over.
Mai often feels lonely. She never wants to live in alone in an apartment by herself, and she's an emotional mess when around her dad or talking about him. She loves him and wants him to be there for her, but she's also felt really frustrated and resentful towards him.
I've taken her pre-canon, weeks before the suppression starts to fade away. More basic information about her, in addition to traits all Contractors share are mentioned in her profile. :)
Are there any X-Men or similar characters around here? I'm just curious! Any experienced mutant who especially knows how to handle fire would be of great help to Mai. I'm sure of that. The gradual transition to full-on Contractor isn't going to be a safe or happy one all by herself.
The other muse I've brought here is a much more experienced Contractor, named Mao. He's a human soul inside the body of a black cat. His ability is to spirit jump and borrow the bodies of other animals within his line of sight. His consciousness is hooked up to wireless internet somewhere. He can hack or receive data as well as send it through his thoughts.
This community looks nice and fun--and yay, optional prompts to try! I'll be slow to tag though, so it's all good with back-tagging and backlogging. :D

I'm terrible at introductions so I'll try to keep this short. I'm Rae and I'll be bringing in Isamu Nitta here from the JRPG Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne. Isamu was once just a flashy, lazy, whiny, sometimes cocky teenager who became caught up in post apocalyptic Tokyo and is now a flashy, lazy, whiny, sometimes cocky pseudo fiend with faces all over his body. I'm taking him from after he tries and fails to create a world of complete isolation and solitude so he'll be a little salty about that. Which means he'll probably complain a lot. I'll probably post something sometime soon if not tomorrow.
