 Another month, another movie!

This month's movie: Arashi no Yori ni / One Stormy Night – The story of the friendship between a wolf and a goat. Japanese-language animation with English subtitles. For those who have trouble following subs or would prefer to hear English, there is a version of the movie with English dubs available for free in 8 parts on Youtube. If you would prefer to watch the English dubs version, here's a tip to keep yourself up to speed with the official stream:
1.) Open the livestream in one tab and pause the movie. This way you won't get conflicting sound.
2.) Open another Internet window and pre-load all 8 parts of the movie (link to part 1 here)
3.) Situate your windows and tabs so that you can watch youtube while you chat in livestream. Easy peasy! Of course you'll have to switch between the parts of the movie and might wind up a few seconds behind, but late responses in chat are always acceptable.

Time: Sunday, April 17th at 9:30 pm Eastern (6:30 Pacific, 7:30 Mountain, 8:30 Central)

IC Location: Flixbuster, the place for all your multiversal movie needs! Sit back, relax, pop a beer or a soda, eat some popcorn and candy, and make a general mess of the little back room in a movie joint with your friends and enemies of the Nexus.

OOC Information: As mentioned before, we stream via livestream.com, which means that if you haven't signed up yet, get on it! Set your name as your character's name, add an icon if you'd like, and join us in the stream. Most commentary should be IC once the movie starts, with OOC comments indicated by ((double brackets.)) OOC comments are welcome, especially laughs, but remember to keep chatter mostly IC. Lurkers are totally welcome! On the night of the stream I will make another post here in the OOC comm with the link to the stream. It may be up as early as an hour in advance or as soon as... Right on time. Keep an eye open!

As a final aside: MOVIE SUGGESTIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! If you've got a particular movie in mind and want to see it streamed, comment here or PM me. I want to be as accommodating as I can! Of course, if your movie involves another person's character's canon we'll have to discuss it with them, but otherwise I'm open to anything.

Incoming!

Gird your loins, folks, because there's big news coming:

We're advertising!

Now that the comm is officially settled in and we've all had a chance to populate it with some of our works and interactions, we're ready for new members! Over the next two week period we're going to be advertising far and wide in search of new friends and characters to meet. The posts haven't gone out yet, though, so you've still got a few days to get everything in order for new arrivals.

So what can Nexus-Crossings members do to get ready in the mean time?

  • Be sure you've introduced yourself in the Official Intro Thread. Bonus idea: If you haven't already, you might want to track posts on that thread so you can stay up-to-date for new arrivals.

  • Make your mark on the Nexus by contributing to the Official Settings Post! One of the great parts about Nexus-Crossings roleplay is that we want the setting to be eclectic and malleable, open to user creation and input. Even if you haven't used a location in rp yet but you like the idea of a place, write up a quick blurb and put it up! Everything that's posted before new players arrive will be part of their first impressions of the site. That's a cool little perk, right? So get out there and do what you do best: Get creative!

  • Tell your friends! Tell your neighbor! Tell your dog! Ask around in your own private circles, see if your tabletop buddies, your old rp connections, or anyone else you know personally might be interested. All we ask is that you leave the public advertisement to us: We've got some great graphics and hooks planned to make a mark on public advertisement venues and we'd really like to be able to get one cohesive PR campaign going.

  • Think about what sorts of roles you'd like to fill or have filled, scheme on plots and posts to make as new people come in, and get ready to get roleplaying!
