b>What does this character think/feel about-
Marriage: She thinks it's ideal when people marry for love, but she understands the practical aspect of it, too. She'd like to get married if she finds the right person to spend the rest of her life with.
Children: She likes kids, but she doesn't know if she wants one. It's a lot of responsibility. Would it be better if she concentrated on helping others first?
Family/Family Values: Family is important, but not everyone had a good family like she did. No one should be forced to do what other people want solely because they're related.
Children/Youth: Children should be allowed to enjoy their childhood. Children in danger or suffering is one of the most upsetting things to her.
Old age: She doesn't have much of an opinion of this. She isn't ageist or anything, but it's hard for her to personally imagine herself as old.
Sex: She likes it (quite a bit, actually), but she needs to be in a relationship to enjoy it. She does not judge anyone else for how much or how little they want sex.
Love: She used to have a much more rose-colored view of romantic love, but her situation with Caspar changed that. She still believes in romantic love, but she assumes it'll be some time before she experiences it again.
Friendship/Other relationships: She likes having friends. She puts her all into every friendship, which she more often than not finds very rewarding.
Homosexuality: This was a non-issue in the Colonies.
The opposite sex: and The same sex: are more or less the same to her, except when it comes to attraction. She tries not to make assumptions based on one's gender. She tends to admire women who are strong and have their act together more than men with the same attributes.
Money/Material things: She's very practical about money, but until the War she didn't know what it was like to have virtually nothing. She highly values the things friends have given her because of the thought put into them. She thinks everyone deserves the basic necessities.
Politics: Before the War, she was apolitical. Now, although she HATES political debate, she'll make an effort to at least research the issues so she can make an educated vote.
Religion: She understands how important religion is to some people, and why, but it's not for her. She's agnostic, at least towards her own gods. She does not like it when religious people judge others, or try to debate science with religion. Science is better when it comes to explaining how the universe works, okay?
Destiny/Duty: She doesn't like the idea of destiny or fate, but she's had a couple positive experiences recently so she's a little more open to the idea. Duty is personally important to her, but she doesn't hold other people to those same standards unless they took an explicit oath, like for medicine or civil service.
Magic/Myth: Magic and myths are cool, but she doesn't believe in them in her world.
Racism/Races in general: Racism was not an issue for the Colonies, but tribalism was, and even for her it was difficult to shed some of those stereotypes. She holds far fewer stereotypes than most, at least.
Science/Technology: The scientific method is the greatest idea ever. Science + technology = the solution to all of life's problems, so long as ethics are involved, too.
Nature/Animals: Nature should be preserved. Almost all animals are cute and deserve to be treated humanely. But a few of them are also good to eat and that is something she occasionally feels bad about, but not enough to stop eating meat.
Modernity: and Antiquity: If given a choice, she'll take modern over ancient, but she believes that some things don't need to be improved upon.
Their past: She remembers most of her childhood fondly. She tries to not to let her past behavior define how she has to behave in the present.
Their future: She is very hopeful about her future, now that she has a home.
Their role in society/job/etc: She loves being a microbiologist, and loves medical volunteering, especially now that the war is over and fewer people are sick and/or injured.
Drugs and alcohol: She does not judge other people for drinking (in moderation) or smoking weed, even though she doesn't drink much (she's afraid she'll say or do something embarrassing while drunk). Harder drugs get a side-eye because they can be dangerous. She has sympathy for people suffering from addiction, but it bothers her when those addictions hurt others.
Killing/Murder: She knows that sometimes, there is no other reasonable option than killing, whether in self-defense, in wartime, or in the form of punishment, but the thought of it disturbs her, that some people are capable of it, or might even enjoy it.
Education: It's important. It doesn't necessarily have to come from a school. Everyone should at least learn about germs and how to prevent them!
The foreign/unknown: She tries her best to keep an open mind.
How does the character view life? Even when everything is scary and uncertain, it's worth living. Life is full of amazing things to learn and people worth befriending.
How does the character view death? Honestly? She's terrified. The answers that science provides for death aren't reassuring, and hearing that it's a part of a cycle doesn't help, either.
How does the character view society? A necessity, but not always done right.
How does the character imagine his/her own death? She didn't during the War, because any end she imagined for herself was too scary. Now she's more secure in the hope that she'll die in her sleep after a long and wonderful life.
What does the character want out of life? She wants to help others, to learn new things... and to share that with someone who loves her.
What does this character consider "success" to be? Any number of things. It could be as important as developing a new vaccine to as personal as making a friend feel better.
What would the character like to change in his/her life? She'd like to be less socially anxious, thanks.
What motivates this character? Seeing how much she can learn about a subject, and seeing how much help she can do for others.
What discourages this character? Finding out that something she had been working towards was a lie.
What makes this character happy? Learning new things, her friends being happy, Earth, animals (including pokemon), chocolate, people trying to be good friends themselves, either to her or to others.
What makes this character sad? Her friends being sad, planets that are at war or dying, anyone she knows of who is suffering in some way
What makes this character angry? People talking shit about her friends. Injustice. People who lie to her and then pretend that they didn't lie to her.
What humiliates this character? Finding out that someone who they thought was a friend secretly was using them or making fun of them.
What most describes this character's personality?A big, brave heart wrapped up in a bundle of nerves.
Psychoanalysis (Describe why they act the way they do): and Does it stem from childhood or an event, or chemical? She was always introverted, and likely genetically predisposed to social anxiety thanks to her dad. She developed her empathy at an early age as a defense mechanism: if she could figure out what made other people upset or angry, she could avoid those things and never upset anyone. She's inclined to avoid conflict because it keeps her anxiety low. This didn't always help her avoid bullying in school, but it kept her from having panic attacks, and as she got older, her social anxiety impoved. The War was a huge setback, but she's finally at a point where she's better off than she was before the War started, mostly thanks to the Nexus.
