And then there's DOOR NUMBER TWO!
What does this character think/feel about-
Marriage: She's commitment-phobic for the most part, so the idea of Marriage is one she avoids thinking about, and doubtful it's something she'll ever do, regardless of however much she loves the people involved.
Children: Other people's kids: Awww, how cute. Having her own kids: Nope nope nope. Too much trouble.
Family/Family Values: Bitter laughter, usually involving some vague insult towards her mother.
Children/Youth: In general though, she's okay with kids, but she can only tolerate them for so long before she needs a break.
Old age: Terrifies her. Not thinking about that thankyouverymuch.
Sex: More please.
Love: Also more please, but avoids talking or thinking about it.
Friendship/Other relationships: Delia loves anyone she considers a friend, not that deep romantic love we've been talking about before, but she's always eager to make new friends.
Homosexuality: Delia's as pansexual as the day is long, judging this would go against that. She likes herself some ladies.
The opposite sex: And the gentleman as well.
The same sex: See above answers.
Money/Material things: As a pirate turned privateer, yes. Give her all the money and all the things. She especially loves clothes.
Politics: Ungh. Complicated, annoying. Delia can dance the dance, but she's so not fond of it.
Religion: "Believe what you want, dear, as long as you don't judge or condemn me for who and what I am.", Delia's own beliefs are more rooted in fact, although she'll occasionally mention the Dead Gods of Orion.
Destiny/Duty: Much like the others, her destiny is her own. But she does have a sense of duty, and if ordered to do something, she'll do her best to accomplish it however she can.
Even if, occasionally, her methods raise some eyebrows or cause a bit of questioning.
Magic/Myth: Magic is just something we don't understand yet, according to Delia, and myth is similar. There's always some truth to them out there.
Racism/Races in general: Who the fuck cares? Delia accepts all as long as they aren't assholes towards her or her friends. Hatred, as previously stated, is wasted energy.
Science/Technology: She's from a Star Trek reality, to not accept technology is stupid.
Nature/Animals: Delia loves animals and nature for the most part, although she's most at home on a space station or starship.
She rather likes felines, though, as she and most cats share a lot of personality traits.
Modernity: Accepts it, prefers it.
Antiquity: Usually any mention of the 'ancient ways' means this is going to be complicated and a lot of trouble.
Their past: While she doesn't mention her past much in most public settings, she is accepting of it. It's formed and shaped her into who she is today.
Their future: One step at the time.
Their role in society/job/etc: Delia usually mentions her rank as Captain, but in reality, she's actually considered a General, and she's not really super comfortable thinking about it. Most of her fleet is made up of ships captured or bought, then subsequently modified for various tasks. It consists of about five ships and their crews, including her own, the Battista's Blade.
Drugs and alcohol: Drugs for her are generally a no go, but Delia will use alcohol as a coping method at times, usually leading straight into Bad Choices.
Killing/Murder: Pointless. Why kill when you don't need to?
Education: Educate everyone. Ignorence is the enemy of true intelligence.
The foreign/unknown: Excitement. Curiousity. Let's see what's over that horizon so to speak.
How does the character view life? Live life to its fullest, and don't have any shame about who or what you are. Accept yourself, and BE yourself.
How does the character view death? The great unknown, and she's a little scared of it.
How does the character view society? Fascinating, if annoyingly complex and occasionally confusing. She wouldn't change it, though, because where's the fun if there's no challenge?
How does the character imagine his/her own death? Ideally, surrounded by her friends and family.
Reality: Probably whenever her ship's finally destroyed in some greater sacrifice to others.
What does the character want out of life? Everything she can possibly get, to have fun, and do what she needs to do to improve it.
What does this character consider "success" to be? Usually surviving whatever madness the universe pits against her.
What would the character like to change in his/her life? Very little, although she would like to at least be on civil speaking terms with her mother again. Delia doesn't hate her, but she's still overwhelmingly pissed with her for reasons she won't clarify.
What motivates this character? Curiosity. To want to see what happens next.
What discourages this character? Generally, being denied repeatedly, or having to face something seemingly unstoppable, or something she really, really dislikes doing, but she'll sigh and charge forward anyway.
What makes this character happy? Socializing, being around people and generally having fun, especially if they are too.
What makes this character sad? Death. Loss. Especially when it's unnecessary.
What makes this character angry? Same as sad, but also includes slights against her that were very specifically against her or her crew and family.
What humiliates this character? As someone who rolls with most things, Delia's truly next to impossible to humiliate.
What most describes this character's personality? Sensual, flirty, emotionally open. Playful and easygoing, to liken her to a cat wouldn't be entirely wrong. Owns who she is and holds no shame about it.
Psychoanalysis (Describe why they act the way they do): A lot of it is racial, some of it's because of the perception of her race. Orions are, typically, open, flirty, and manipulatively amorous. Delia accepts these things, and rolls with most of them, although she's more straightforward and much less manipulative simply out of her own moral code than anything else.
As well as her desire to have fun.
So she takes the perception and just runs with it. Rallying against it is difficult at best, and there's no need to do so when it's easier to just be who she is without any shame or regret whatsoever.
Compare and contrast to her mother, who is extremely manipulative in numerous ways, and even treats her own children like pieces on a chess board more than actual people at times.
Does it stem from childhood or an event, or chemical? Childhood, mostly, since her Mother, while genuinely loving her children, tended to use them more than let them grow up to be individuals.
