ALRIGHTY SPOOKS

Loki is gonna be hosting a Halloween party at the Viper's Pit! And in the spirit of the holiday it's of course a costume party! The arena and bathhouse out back have been replaced with a wide open space with fun games like apple bobbing, a roaring bonfire and plenty of goodies suitable for roasting over an open fire, and just outside the warming ring of firelight is the start of a ~*spooky forest*~ on one side and on the other a good old-fashioned corn maze, with what looks to be a classic haunted house at it's heart.

But of course, Loki being Loki, he's going to botch an enchantment or two and those awesome costumes everyone's wearing? Well when the clock strikes eleven they're not quite so pretend anymore!

All costumed characters will find that they are now quite firmly what they came dressed as! This includes powers, tools, new limbs, the works! Either they're quite surprised to find themselves this way, are quite convinced that they've always been this way, or think themselves someone else entirely, lasting until daybreak. (For example: Should Peter Parker show up as a cowboy he'll get all the skills a rootin' tootin' gunslinger should have! He can either be entirely new to the idea, can be Peter Parker just thinking he's always been a cowboy but otherwise the same, or Fully AU'd as a historical cowboy with no clue about the Nexus or anything like that.)

Loki will be inviting those he knows personally, though there will be fliers advertising the bash as well, so even if your characters might not know the trickster they can definitely show up! The bar and the nightclub will be Halloween-themed as well but generally more 'chill' and operating like usual for those who aren't the sort to go traipsing a maze or running in the woods. (though those in there will still be affected by Loki's mess!)

I'll be posting the party on the 26th, so use this space to plot out shenanigans in advance, ask questions under that toplevel, or inundate your fellow nexus-goers with Halloween gifs!

SO! Jake is going to be coming as a palulukan, which is an 18-foot-long apex predator from Pandora. His transformation is going to be a mental one as well as physical, and thus he will be chasing people and trying to eat them.

The AVF is going to still be in effect so he can't actually hurt anyone, but he's sure as hell going to try his damndest. If you would like your character to be terrified by him, please let me know! He'll have a top level comment in the post where you can reply directly if you so choose, but I can also have him tag around and come find people instead if you like. This is an opt-in spook only; I won't inflict him on anyone who doesn't explicitly tell me they want this and/or tag his top level. Tagging his top level is going to be taken as consent to be spooked.

Furiosa will be in This Costume, and will probably be skulking in the woods a lot as a consequence. I don't want her arm to be replaced, but we'll assume she has some kind of fancy steampunk prosthetic instead of the usual one.

Ben will be a Headless Horseman, having the look but keeping his mind. As such, he'll be spending time both in the woods and in the open space taking part in games - generally hanging around being spooky and going riding in the woods. This is the look he's going for, influenced by all the Gothic fiction he's been reading in the Grand Library.

Balthazar will be going as this rather rock-looking dude in leather. Complete with tight leather pants and a spiked collar. It's rather edgy and definitely the type of thing he'd wear to get people looking his way. Especially enticing the view of a certain hooligan with an eye patch.

Loki will be attending the party dressed in a long gothic-looking black leather coat. It will bring out the more dark nature of his being and create the broody atmosphere he sometimes gives off

Ok, so, what had happened was Balthazar was looking at a squirrel costume that came with a t-shirt that said 'DEEZ NUTS' because yes, that is absolutely his sense of humor. However, in the process, he stumbled across this Flying Squirrel Kigurumi and it looks so snuggly and comfortable to run around in, he opted for that instead.

The Indoraptor's going as an dinosaur skeleton, so he'll be wandering around as a magically animated dinosaur skeleton along the lines of "Night in the Museum". He'll probably spend his time in the woods and the corn maze, allowing people to see him and roaring a bit.

He won't be trying to harm anyone - just getting into the spirit of the season - but let me know if you want to get a bit of a fright from a living pile of dinosaur bones.

So, my characters don't really understand human holidays, but what they do understand is that they cannot comfortably get into the Viper's Pit. The solution for this problem is called a "holo-avatar".

What I am guessing will happen is that they will actually be the human/ish people they appear to be for the duration of the party? That'll freak them out enough tbh.

Lucifer was messing around and got dared by Astaroth to pull out something scantily clad and Egyptian. Being part lion... this costume is going to turn him into a sphinx. Lucifer will remember who he is but his desire to mess with people's minds, demand answers, ask riddles, the usual Sphinx stuff will be a high priority.

I am happy to play him as a spook and harass muses about secrets and questions they don't want to answer. Just let me know.

The Glitterpocalypse. So before this event was mentioned I had planned to have Halloween Jack (apocalypsejack) and Ziggy dress a like.. basically eyepatches and some amalgamation of their crazy tastes in clothing. They had planned to just pick on Balthazar and Hiroki not being able to tell them apart but... I have decided to stick with it. They will look the same to most people (Those who know some ways to tell them apart will be able to with some visual inspection). They are also going to have crossed wires as far as memories and discussions.

Basically... welcome to Halloween Stardust.. population two crazy half aliens. Good luck. XD

I don't have a specific costume in mind but Thor is going to have a token effort toward dressing up as a dog (maybe one of those headbands with ears on it, and that's it) and whoops now he's a big friendly Newfie. His threads will be entirely non-spooky.

This will also be set after the intervention thread which is still ongoing, but I don't expect it to be a huge factor while he's a dog. He'll be more concerned with snacks and bellyrubs, though he'll be himself enough to recognize friends.

The Piranha Plant, just for the lulz, is going as Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors.

It won't be interested in human blood, thankfully, but will suddenly be able to talk and communicate in song.

Moloch doesn't wear costumes but Sin is going to put rabbit ears on him and turn him into the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog. See here if you don't know what this means.. He will be biting people, though no damage. Let me know if you want your character attacked by a tiny rabbit. He will also top level as well. Expect to be bitten if you respond to him.

On the advice of a clerk on his first Halloween, Galahad will be going as a Lone Sane Banana Man who will avoid the magic long enough to avoid being turned into an actual banana.

Bob is going to go as themselves for Halloween...and then get modelocked into their terrifying alien form for the night. No shapeshifting tonight!

Tom is going to be dressed as Steve Irwin (Prepare yourself) and Aletayria a kangaroo. People will be able to meet her baby which will turn into a joey in her pouch. Aletayria will still be able to speak via telepathy.

skekSa is going for Halloween as a shryke. She's keeping the blue feathers, but the hat and coat will be swapped out for a helmet and black battle-armor, and she'll be carrying a nasty-looking flail instead of a cutlass.

Cricket will be sticking close to Loki, and will be wearing a gangster costume a la Peaky Blinders.

Amelia will be fighting with her outlook as War throughout the evening, causing some mayhem but also realizing enough of what she's doing to get pretty tired by the time the evening is over. Halloween snafus are far too common for her taste! lol
