OOC The Storm Part 2
Hello guys!
A lot happened in the first post of the Winter Event, and I know everyone is eager to move onto the next stage, so without further ado let me reveal how it's about to play out.
Post two is an Expedition Post.
There will be a Prep phase and an Expedition phase.
The Prep phase will mostly consist of expedition members finding out their groups and group missions, preparing for those missions, as well as those in bases fortifying those bases. Non-expedition members can also get involved with helping to organise things, prepping the expedition members, providing information and generally being helpful.
The Expedition phase will be where the expedition groups go off into the storm and see what they can bring home. Things will be getting pretty damn bad by then, so they'll have a lot of expectation weighing on their shoulders.
This doesn't leave much for non-expedition members to do in this post, but fear not! Post three will arrive shortly afterwards (timing dependant on how the second post is going). This will be the final post and will have two stages: One for characters not out on expeditions to play out events, and a second for when the expeditions finally come back. Stage one will probably overlap with Post 2 to give non-expedition characters a place to play while they wait for theirhunter gatherers friends to come back.
Until then - Use this post to declare what you'd like your characters to be doing and to plot together.
Remember, not all of us are on Discord or live in similar time zones, so please put any requests here or in a direct message to me/the mods just to keep things simpler for us (Thanks!).
We also really encourage players to spark up your own story threads like in post one, or even play out event threads in your journals if it doesn't fit in with the posts. Either way, have as much fun as possible!

I know B's Steve (Shieldborne) and Ael's Daredevil mentioned they might be interested so I'll probably give them first crack at this. Let me know where folks are at!

I highly encourage folks in the rescue thread to track/read the thread between Peter and Miles that goes alongside it as there will be clues therein for where to find the boys. I won't be jumping in to aid the rescue thread unless you guys need some guidance. This is a chance for your characters to show their stuff and get to know each other!

So she will help with prep as much as possible. Even relying on her knowledge to impact advice to those going out on an expedition.
Early Call for Side Missions!
Potential side missions:
- Josh and anyone volunteering to help will be scouting along the main route planned for the expedition, mapping hazards and doing their best to make sure the first leg is safe.
- Lawrence and Tamminy want an expedition to the local junkyard/Industrial district for parts and useful salvage: it's not far, but who knows what's lurking among all that machinery?
- Blaze is going to be looking for one or two people to help her retrieve equipment scattered outside the boundaries. It should be a simple scavenger hunt... emphasis on 'should'.
This is definitely not an exhaustive list! If you have ideas of your own, or particular things you'd like to play during this phase, go ahead and comment with them! Here we just want to get an idea of who's interested in doing what. Separate tags will be up shortly with suggestions for activities at the base and sign-ups for the Main Expedition thread.

Knowing Harley and her tenancy to embrace danger...
She would be willing to join the Lawrence/Tamminy expedition. Or the Blaze expedition. Which ever one needs her most :D

If there's an opportunity for posting waiting up for the mission-goers to return, I'm all for that, otherwise he'll be more in part three it sounds like.

He's not likely to actually be attacking anyone, although he might accidentally or deliberately freak people out, and if someone shoots at him and asks questions later, that might not end well. I don't have anything specific in mind, just sort of looking for ideas.

Back at Base...
Suggestions for activities:
-Supplies and Demands: The expedition needs supplies, and that means someone's got to pack. Does anyone know how to make a hundred sets of emergency rations? Did anyone think how many sturdy backpacks they'd need? Didn't anyone raid the camping store?! Well, someone's got to get hold of rope, food, first aid supplies, batteries and flashlights, emergency flares, water bottles... which might mean negotiating with refugees for some of their things. And stealing back that sled of supplies from the people who 'found it'. And talking the camping store owner off his throne of fleece jackets. People need those!
The More You Know: Maybe your character knows a few things about surviving in hostile terrain; maybe they've seen the things that lurk outside. On the other hand, maybe your character needs some tips on getting out of this with all their toes attached - to say nothing of their head. Whether it's trading survival skills for local intel or getting some mentoring in self-defence, knowledge is valuable round here.
-Keeping the Water Running: So you're stuck in a frozen hellhole, and half the town wants to go off on some fool's expedition. Great. The burst pipes still need to be fixed. These buildings really ought to be fortified against raids. And not to alarm anyone, but people are starting to get sick...
-A Morale Boost, Idiot: The longer everyone's crammed in together, the dimmer the lights get, the closer the snow creeps, the more miserable things become. Refugees and volunteers alike are in danger of succumbing to despair, cabin fever or the simple misery of trekking around all day in wet socks. Maybe your character takes to doing rounds, helping to clear ice from doors, checking in on people, exchanging news and a few kind words to remind them they're not alone. Maybe they're keeping count of who's well, who's sick and who's plain missing. Or maybe your character has other ways to help their fellow refugees keep their spirits up. Have they heard a good joke about Reynard? Can they tell an engrossing story? Can they sing a silly song? Will they try anyway?

named Lawrence
If anyone wants to be antagonized, fucked with, stolen from, etc., let me know! Harrow and Lawrence are both fair game for instigating!
