This is unrelated and doesn't necessarily impact the quality of your RP, but I was wondering if you had a PB for Ashlynn, would you ever want me to make you some icons for her? I'm one of those people who finds it fun to do, so if you had any interest, I'm down to clown. (And no worries if you'd rather not, this is an open-ended offer! I make icons for loads of folks around here.)

Also, did you ever want to look into Discord? It's a great spot to stay in the loop with the community and chat OOC, as well as send PMs and stuff so we can plan/stay in touch/discuss! It's handy and you can use it in your browser too, which I do often.

Also also, you're fine in my books, always. I feel like I'm the way bigger flake cuz I'm the one always dropping off the face of the earth cuz of various IRL garbage. You're a trooper!

um, I'm not sure what a PB is my dear. But Icons are cool, or even if someone has any advice on how to insert like links properly and such. I always have problems with that. *looks for that helpful list again* :)

PB is a played by, or a face claim like some people call it. Basically the actor you use for their looks. :] And even if you have someone in mind, just their name is enough cuz then I can google up some photos and go from there.

And yeah, I use discord in the browser almost exclusively. Less strain on my comp and you can pull it up anywhere! It's pretty easy to get rolling that way. Just signing up like you would for any other online service/site. And if/when you do pull it off, one of the mods can invite you to our chat!

I went with pics of her wearing glasses since I assumed that's the default? If it's not, finding NOT glasses material will be easy, no sweat.

I noticed now too that you have lots of icons for other characters. Most people just make separate journals for all the various guys they have. (Don't ask me how many I have, I'll die.) Have you ever considered moving them to their own? Up to you, of course! Again, this isn't like some kind of dealbreaker or major faux pas.

You can repeat this process as many times as need be, since there is no limit of journals a single person is allowed to make. (To my knowledge.) Popping in to add that Discord isn't a must and if it's not your thing you can still keep in touch with people you're playing with via Direct Messages on DW. If you're nervous about how a thread or post is going, clear communication helps everyone stay on the same page :)

Thanks for that, and I'll have to see if my computer wants to behave with it again it didn't last time. So Dm's might be the easiest route at the moment. And aww thank you I'm glad to hear it. Least I haven't goofed up with everyone that's nice to hear.

Everyone else seems to have gotten the Discord server mentioned, which is a great place to chat with players in real time if you want to discuss a plot.

I'd say if you're worried about a thread, message a person via their journal. I fully approve of people contacting me about questions or hashing out some details. It's also important if you want to make sure something can be done. For example, Character A is from a world where Character B is a fictional superhero. It's important to communicate with another player before approaching them IC with vital information about their character.

As for tags, that's another thing you can message someone about. Find out how a person wants to RP a certain situation or hash out what your characters might do and say to one another.

Also, I know I'm bad about forgetting tags from time to time, or I just have to come back to them with my mind clear. So please don't think me getting to your tag late is a bad sign. I like Ashlynn and highly encourage you keep going with RP if it's what you love to. Our players and mods are here to help!

Just to chime in...I'm not a mod and this isn't even a critique, just an observation and some thoughts, I guess?

I like your character and I like playing with you, but I do find I'm sometimes not sure where to go with a thread with her. My RP style tends to be very geared toward developing my character, and I'll tend to push my muses into interactions that enable them to experience something new, resolve something old that's unresolved, or change in some way. I don't necessarily need action/adventure or angst or romance or anything like that, but I enjoy RP the most when it brings out something new in the character I'm playing. That's just my approach; everyone's different, I'm just telling you that for the sake of some background about how I think about RP.

It feels like Ash has had a few nice cozy chats with my characters (Loki, Furiosa, Cricket, and this Steve, and I'm also Charlotte the spider but that's a weak voice so I probably won't play her much), which is sweet and welcome, and if that's the kind of RP you want I'm happy to just have IC cozy chats, but is there some specific type of interaction or storyline you want for her? Because I'd be happy to plot with you, if there is. Honestly, I should probably throw Cricket at her, regardless, because she's the kind of friendly, peaceful character he'd enjoy quiet time with, but yeah. What are you looking for in RP?

I do have Discord, but I can be a little tricky to reach there during the week. I'm a little easier to reach by PM, and you're welcome to message me if you want to plot. I will likely be slow to reply if you do, because I'm always doing 800 things at once. Also I have been known to flake and vanish for weeks because of RL, so there's that warning. But I won't bite and I will communicate if anything's actually wrong, so you don't have to be anxious about that.
