Public Service Announcement
A large banner hangs in the center of the Plaza with a hand-painted and exessively glittered 'WELCOME TO THE NEXUS' plastered across the fabric. Underneath the banner is an impossibly large monitor. You know, the kind your neighbor makes sure everyone on the block is home to see as he has to knock a wall out of his house to fit it inside his living room. It's playing a video on loop.
"Do we have to do this--?" The man speaking looks every kind of uncomfortable, clad head to toe in a red, white, and blue combat suit with a large round shield hanging off of one arm. "Are they even going to get it? I'm not--"
"Rogers." A woman's voice cuts in. "Just read the damn script. You've done worse."
His posture straightens then, and he flashes a smile directly toard the camera, hands settling on his hips.
"Welcome to the Nexus, citizen. You may find yourself very confused right now. Trust me, I know that feeling well. Everyone's new here once. What's important right now is to remain calm. You're in a multiversal meeting point between worlds." He gestures offscreen to his right and sure enough there's a stand with pamphlets on display.
"So, where is this place? The Nexus isn't anywhere in the world you're coming from, though if you're here it's because it is linked to your world somehow. The Nexus is a place in between worlds. A sprawling centralized hub that links to many different worlds, times, and dimensions."
"Well then, why are you here? You're here because you've stumbled into one of those connections. For example, you may have come through a doorway that doesn't lead where it used to, or perhaps it always did lead here and no one has ever gone through it."
"Right about now you might be asking, how do I get home? Often getting home is as simple as walking right back through the way you came in. Sometimes the connection isn't very stable though. If you find yourself stuck, don't worry! There are individuals here who can more than likely help you re-open the doorway so you can get home."
"So go ahead and take your time, gather your thoughts, and then give us a question. We're always happy to lend a helping hand, citizen. Enjoy your stay."
