Amelia comes from a world that’s equivalent to Earth’s Renaissance time period, and there’s a wide range of songs that are associated with that time period. Lots of lutes and basic woodwinds, as well as the use of the bodhran. Living in a port town, songs like Jolly Rovin’ Tar and Spanish Ladies (without the references to Earth cities and countries, of course!) would’ve been very common for her to hear in her youth.
What kind of music do they let people know they listen to? –
If someone asked her to put something on, Amelia would play anything that’s on her playlist. She doesn’t care who knows what she listens to. The styles she listens to are varied, so she’s more likely to tailor what she listens to based on her company’s preferences more than hide something on purpose.
What is their secret genre or song? Something they wouldn't necessarily want others knowing they like. –
She has one song that falls on this list, and it’s because she doesn’t want anyone to see how thinking of home, and the love she never had a chance at there, affects her. First State ft. Sarah Howells - Seeing Stars (Vexare Remix) always makes her think of the man she missed her chance with, and she can’t hide that pain no matter how much she tries.
And what genre can they just not stand? If possible, find an example. –
Music that’s too “floaty and light” bothers Amelia. Artists like Enya are very much not her thing. Loud, screamo/speed metal and rap are also not much for her thing, but she doesn’t go to places that play them enough to know that for sure.
Do they associate any specific songs or genres with themselves? –
Pendulum - Watercolour - This is HER song, hands down.
Do they associate any specific songs or genres with other people? –
Other than the above? Not really. She associates sounds and ways of being with people, but the music is her own.
