What kind of music would your character have grown up listening to? –
Like Isidor, Viatorus grew up around a lot of Classical music considered essential to their cultural education. His exposure to contemporary music was somewhat delayed until his later years except for a few here and there that slipped through the net.

What kind of music do they let people know they listen to? –
Viatorus doesn't hide what kind of music he listens to, but he is more likely to share the songs he likes that he thinks cater to whoever's asking. So while extended family get the Classical selection, more ordinary peers hear more about the other kinds of Classics he likes (e.g. Bittersweet Symphony, Steal My Sunshine). He's also happy to share the happy in-between of soundtrack music he so thoroughly enjoys.

What is their secret genre or song? Something they wouldn't necessarily want others knowing they like. –
I don't think there's anything he'd be particularly ashamed of, since he assumes his tastes are awkward and embarrassing anyway...

And what genre can they just not stand? If possible, find an example. –
(Most) Rap and heavy metal both just scare him. Like this. He doesn't know what they're singing, but he wants them to not hurt him.

Do they associate any specific songs or genres with themselves? –
Not really, though he knows he tends towards soft/happy sounds in his music.

Do they associate any specific songs or genres with other people? –
French Folk songs always remind Viatorus of his grandfather. He always associates rock/pop/sultry songs as Isidor's kind of thing. This song reminds him of her, but he's far too scared to tell her.

:D I love her music! Aventine reminds me most of V, but I already have that (and the main theme for Amelie) listed on his soundtrack and I was trying to avoid overlap.

TBH I feel like Viatorus' taste in music mirrors my own tastes growing up and this so amusing to me.

I love V's selection of music. It's got a sense of calm in it that none of my other characters' music does (except Runa's). But yeah, I imagine V definitely did his best to balance out childhood difficulties with super pleasant/optimistic/calm music where he could and as he grew older it just kind of became more dazed/dreamy.
