Your Character as a Video Game Encounter
So, here's a thought exercise: What would a video game encounter featuring your character be like? In this scenario your character should be a major player in some way, but the details are up to you. Would adventurers or raiders be fighting your character? Would your character be aiding the good guys against baddies or an environmental threat? Or is it more of a puzzle encounter? What's the genre of their game? What would the mechanics be like? What are the rewards for beating your character's event?
Hit us with your characters as video game bosses or important NPCs!

Harley is a character in a video game. Batman Arkham Knight
Here is a little demo of her storyline.

Jim is totally a damsel in distress NPC you have to go and rescue. You get the idea fighting through whatever dungeon he's a part of that he's managed to wreck a shitload of stuff and let his crew have a chance to escape, but the captain himself is being held captive.
It's up to you brave heros to go and rescue this blonde bombshell from the big bad statistically likely White Men who have betrayed him this time!

I think this is the best way to be a character in a video game. Lego characters rule.

Caspar is the snarky smartass NPC who is related to the main villain but is not a fightable villain himself.

Once aboard you'd fight your way to the bridge and then take on the Captain. His signature attacks include a taunt that will target a random party member and force them to engage with him directly in melee range where he will beat the crap out of them and a party wide stun when he uses his phaser.
Good luck!

(Idk if anyone cares about having hidden gameplay scenarios spoiled, since that's part of the joy of these games, but maybe avoid the linked videos if you're concerned about such?)
The "Majima Everywhere" events in Yakuza Kiwami are probably the best example of Majima's flavor in most of the series. He makes a game of constantly fighting the series' protagonist after he's been released from a 10-year prison sentence. A handful of the huge number of scenarios include Officer Majima, Majima roughing up dudes who don't sort their recyclables properly, and the always lovely Goromi.
If I was gonna design a scenario for an encounter with Yakuza 0 Majima, I'm imagining more of a "beat the so-called Lord of the Night at his own game" quest. So like, kick his ass at all the night-life minigames: disco, club battles, karaoke, etc. And maybe also a traditional fight cuz why not.

If you want a real video game experience, Dr. White would make a great boss for a horror game. You'd find him in a creepy laboratory you thought was a safe haven, surrounded by mooks dressed as plague doctors- but in all black. The doctor's attacks consist of stabbing you with medieval medical knives or spraying you with poisons that give you nasty but temporary status effects. Depending on what kind of horror game we're playing, you'll either have to fight him... Or avoid him.
And while we're at it, imagine a game where Dr. White and all his friends were the boss monsters. Yikes.

Fighting Joshua would be a two-stage fight. In stage 1, the fight is largely a matter of keeping your sanity while Josh spouts crazy and tries to scare the fuck out of you while you make your way through the Blackwood's Mountain Lodge to find him. Josh himself would be dressed up like The Psycho and every attack he makes is all damage to one's sanity meter.
Phase 2 happens when you get the mask off of him. His body twists and malforms, jagged fangs sprouting out of one side of his face. One eye turning a milky white-green. Wendigo Josh is a DPS race. Every X seconds he WILL dismember another party member and eat them, which will restore a small portion of his health. Best hope he doesn't eat the tank or healer first!

*find your quest line /get patched up here for maximum health need to know info *
Dor, would be a guardian /knight of some sort. The kindly Lord that gives you food and lodging/ training before a big battle.
Mycroft, is Mycroft XD. Do not make him mad or hurt his brother. He could aid you or make life very difficult without getting within striking distance. Course if you're playing as the detective he's usually a Quest giver at some point.

as an NPC, Delia would probably be a neutral questgiver, offering up jobs for cash and technological lewts. Flirting with the player, regardless of gender, because it amuses her to do so.
As a Boss, congratulations, you're storming the Battista's Blade, fighting your way through crew and corridors, traps and weapons to reach Delia and her senior staff at the bridge.
There's Delia herself, a tactical officer, who behaves as ranged DPS with a rifle and grenade launcher, she also buffs the others with Orders and cooldown reducers, and can summon Security Officer adds at random times. Delia also gains various Intelligence and weakness determination based buffs if she focuses on a specific target long enough.
Then there's Delia's younger sister, Kayla, the healer-slash-Science officer, who keeps Delia and the others alive, and frequently CC's her attackers with various Star Trek based Scientific bullshit (Stasis fields, confuses, etc)
And lastly, there's Commander Strix, the resident mad
scientistEngineer on board Delia's ship and probably the bigger threat than Delia herself. Strix has a fondness for explosive and destructive weapons that hit over a wide area, she can also cause various tech debuffs, and cause weapons to malfunction. Strix can also regenerate the others' (and her own) shield health, protecting her allies from damage and reducing the effectiveness of energy attacks.Fun fact: You have to beat them all in rapid succession, because one can revive one of the others, who in turn can revive the last one.

Boss
Dia's bossfight is fast paced and difficult. She frequently activates stealth, vanishing from sight and most types of scanners, usually trying to ambush her opponent and defeat them in a quick, fast paced saber combo.
To defeat her, the fight involves quick time events to evade her and strike back as she's attacking you. These have to be excellently timed, poorer timing will only result in preventing her attack (and forcing her to fall back), and not getting a chance to counter.
As she takes damage, her combos change, as do the commands to react to her and deflect her attacks. She also gets faster, and remains in stealth for longer periods.
Reduce her health enough, and she starts throwing in Force Lightning at random intervals.
Defeating her forces her to flee.

But there's also the fact that highlighting her with the mouse gives you the option to attack her.
Dare you?
Dare you attack this neutral flagged npc?
You dare.
She cusses you out and oneshots you in a single green fired blast.
Then you notice her level and millions of health.
Fortyskey
<Disgruntled Destruction Warlock>
Level ?? Boss
So.
You come back. With at least 25 of your closest friends and allies and discover: She can fucking murder all of you. Fortyskey summons Infernals as adds, deals ridiculous AoE damage, and as a bonus? Completely fucking ignores the Threat table. She attacks who she wants, when she wants, and how she wants at seemingly random. That hunter over there? Dead. Your best healer? Fuck you. Dead.
So what happens when you finally kill her?
She drops...
Absolutely nothing.
After about five minutes, she just soulstones, resurrects, and continues along her path uninterrupted.

The fact that she just gets back up and walks away really makes it for me though. XD

When she self rezzes, she probably cusses out whoever got the killing blow, or just people in general.
But yeah. I'd tie a Feat of Strength to her so it wouldn't be immdiately apparent there's an achievement for killing her.

THEN WHY DO YOU PLAY OUTLASTThat's actually fitting! Though now I have a lot of questions about this game.

To terrorize yourself. Not much to say other than, uh. You're tryna get out of an asylum where a shady corp has been abusing the inpatients to make a nanite monster controlled by dreams! Lots of being chased by dudes either with no nose or their dicks out. Good times.
