non-violence field
I have some questions about the non-violence field. What happens, if someone tries to be violent? Also, would the field react the same to a warning shot...someone firing a gun, but deliberately missing? Rosco tends to fire his gun just to get attention. LOL

As a fellow 'gun' toting muse writer and as someone whose muse tends to get into trouble a lot, I can field some of this question. (If I get something wrong or one of the mods has something to add, I'm sure they will.)
For the most part, when someone tries to have their muse fight something while the anti-violence field is up, it's normally depicted by people in the comm as if the characters are hitting some kind of wall around or bubble around the other character. It's easy to write and easy for people reading to visualize. (I've had a thread where Solo thinks he breaks his toes trying to kick someone else.)
But, if you had an idea that was pretty funny or creative where some unseen force was stopping the fight, I can't imagine anybody would give you a hard time. It's basically just a thing in place to keep one character from hurting another person's character.
Now, there are a few exceptions to the AV field.
If both characters sincerely want to hurt each other and both writers want the fight to happen, then the field mysteriously 'drops'. The field has been down to make certain events happen that were planned by the writers in the past too, such as the time we all wanted to write about a big fight club. We talked ooc and arranged the matches, then had them happen in the game. Finally, for the sake of making some interesting idea's happen, there is at least one area in the Nexus where the AV field is never up and that zone is called 'The Wilds'.
Me and Kirk's writer have sent the two Captains out for a 'hunt' together in the wilds. I picture it looking like a big African brushland, but it could also be foresty too. Again, a lot of this stuff is flexible.
Everyone I've ever wrote threads with has been pretty open to fun ideas as long as the basic concepts are respected. No mod is going to jump from out of nowhere and make you delete a thread because the way you wrote about the AV field was slightly different than the way someone else did. Nobody wants to stifle creativity over a dumb rule.
As for the gun, it can definitely go off. I've had Solo's blaster discharge before. I haven't had a reason to have Han shoot at someone, but I'd picture it being similar to shooting at Superman? Or just the way the AV field works in general. Bullet bounces off character. Blaster bolt hits an unseen flat surface in front of character's chest and disburses. Something like that.

Been watching your threads and waiting for a good chance to unleash scruffy on poor Rosco. I'm sure when it it happens it will be pretty amusing.

It's pretty much writer-dependent, most everyone's flexible enough to work it out somehow. Nobody's so picky that folks'll start jumping down each-others' throats about specific details at all.

Mod modding mods for Mod
The Anti-Violence field serves a couple purposes for the sake of the Nexus Setting.
1. Not everyone's character is inherently a Good Person. We have straight up villains walking the streets here and people would be hella boned if there wasn't some way to stop people from literally getting firebombed because Snidely Whiplash had a bad day and decided he wanted to take out some fools to feel better.
2. The field isn't set in stone. What Han's player and Dia's player have said is true. There's no generator or object in the Nexus for people to Sabotage, but think of it like a dome with a central focus point. The strongest area protected is the Plaza AKA where people go to ask questions by and large. This provides a Safe Space for characters to exist and interact in the main community threads. The further one moves out from the Plaza, the weaker the field is.
That is why a lot of times you will see people specifically saying their question happens in a different location other than the Plaza. Now, the field can never break without express permission from both OOC players. Exceptions to this include: You may create an NPC for the express purpose of slapping/beating up or otherwise hurting Your character for Reasons. by that logic you could also decide to make an NPC to hurt, though this is something you may want to ask a mod about before just doing. We don't want to completely neuter Bad Guys here in the Nexus, so this is more of an 'It's probably Okay, but get a Mod to sign off before you create an Orphanage and then set it on Fire because wow what.'
In general however If Character A and Character B want to punch each other in the face until one of them falls over, they will discuss it between one another first, and then take the action to one of the many setting locations most relevant to their thread.
3. There is 100% no rule saying you can't TRY to be violent with the field is up. How it stops your character is entirely up to you. If you want the gun to jam or to hit something and fall to the ground, that's entirely up to you. We have Creative Freedom here and you should do whatever you think of. As a general rule of thumb, you can have your character act out as much as you like, just keep in mind they can't actually hurt anyone. There is a literal demon walking around the Nexus who has tried to hunt and eat people, only to have a string of hilarious and frustrating failures turn her into the Wile E. Coyote of the Nexus.
4. As always HAVE FUN. Thank you for asking for clarification. If there's anything else I can help with please feel free to ask here or shoot me a Direct Message. <3

But I also hope and trust the mods here to step if we would ever have someone abuse the AV.
