June 2019 Writing Prompts

It's that time again, folks! Spring has flown right on by with so many huge character plots coming to a head. It's been crazy fun reading what all you've been up to. Let us do our part to inspire you for another month. And As always--
Disclaimer: I never close old writing prompts from previous months. People can and should be encouraged to post on old month's prompts and I highly encourage players to track these posts to catch stragglers or new people writing on old prompts.
Now. With that out of the way, onto this month's prompts.
1. The scales have tipped too far out of balance.
2. Write about your character's first ever passion. A first crush, their first dream job, the first person they ever decided they admired. Do they still hold onto it?
3. "Why would you lie to me?"
4. "What is worth fighting for?"
5. An unexpected afternoon visit.

Just wanted to give a little resolution to Ellen and Geoffrey's situation. Ended up with a fic, but wanted to note here the use of prompts. Great prompts!

5. An Unexpected Afternoon Visit (Ziggyverse AU)
Of course, the event was open to the public, obviously not limited to students. Still, Dee was a little surprised to see an oddly familiar face walk up to the booth he was manning.
"Hi..." Jay blushed as he brushed some hair behind his ear. "I'd like to... um... bid on a guitar."
Dee recognized him immediately. It was Jay, the violinist from the LA Phil. The same man who came rushing to help him after he collapsed on stage during the dress rehearsals for the winter program. The same man who liked to get coffee with him after performances, and sit and talk about music composition until the shop kicked them out.
Dee was apprehensive and downright annoyed at the beginning. After all, this was a nurse, and he just kept watching him. Sure, he'd managed to convince them not to call an ambulance during the rehearsal, but the last thing Dee wanted was some doctor getting involved. If he started back on the drugs, he'd have to drop out of college like he did high school. All of his dreams would die, and honestly, he would rather die first. No exaggeration.
But the most Jay had done was ask the director to provide him a chair. It was embarrassing being the only one in the choir seated, but it was less embarrassing than having his legs give out again. Which, although he never admitted it out loud, he was now secretly terrified of. They probably would call an ambulance if it happened a second time, even if this nurse told them it would be all right.
This nurse... Jay. He was starting to like his company, honestly. And he was kind of cute...
Dee didn't realize he'd zoned out until Jan nudged him gently in the arm.
"Oh! Oh... of course. You want to make a bid! I can help you with that... I can definitely help you with that." He stuttered, reaching for a pen. "...Do you know which one you want?"
Jay smiled, blushing again at Dee's reaction. "Do you have a favorite?"
"Me?" Dee stumbled over his words as he looked up at the three guitars up for auction. "I mean, all three are excellent, one-of-a-kind builds. Locally sourced wood..."
Jan may have giggled to herself as she watched the interaction unfold.
"When I got here, Rekker had just finished tuning the second one... The sinker redwood with the asymetrical headstock." Dee gestured behind him. "I sang along with it for a bit. If you're looking to accompany a vocalist, it had a rich tone, but wasn't overpowering. Of course, that can probably be said for all three..."
Jay looked down at the bidding sheet. The event had been going on for a couple of hours, and all three of the guitars were already up to around $5,000 each.
"That one?" He pointed, just to be sure.
"Mmhm."
"If it sounds amazing with your voice, then that's all I need to know." Jay smiled. He took the pen from Dee and checked the 'buy now' option on the sheet. It was nearly twice as much as the current bid. But, of course, it did completely eliminate the possible competition. "Who should I make the check out to?"
"You're..." Dee blinked, not expecting anyone to just buy one outright. That was a lot of money, especially in the mind of a college student. Jan looked over, absolutely delighted.
"This year, we're supporting the Greater Las Angeles Agency on Deafness. Thank you, very much, Mister..." she glanced over at the bidding sheet. "Mister Andrews. This will go a long way to helping us make a difference this year."
"Happy to help." He smiled, giving an extra nod to Dee as he pulled a blank check out of his wallet and started filling in the details.
"I'll get someone to pull that down for you in a few minutes. I hope you don't mind the wait." She added. "If you like, I'm sure Rekker would be happy to take a complementary photo with you."
"No problem at all. I'm not in any hurry." He replied. Once she'd turned away, Jay's attention turned right back to Dee. "Hey... so, when you're done working the event, I was wondering if you like to help me test out my new guitar? Maybe... over dinner?"
Dee blushed. "...okay. Yeah... Sure. We're supposed to shut down at 5. Does 6:00 work?"
"Sounds great."

That was about three years ago.
While it was an expensive date, to say the least, it wasn't for naught.
Jay still has the guitar. He also still has Dee.
