Good news everyone! An exciting Harry Potter-themed Christmas is right around the corner. On Monday, December 11, expect a special post in the main community.

The Christmas thread will be open to all, with no special posting order. The only thing this Christmas thread has in common with the recent Halloween thread is that people should feel free to tag in on the existing party thread and get to mingling and partying! Don't be afraid to make more than one top comment describing your character doing different actions around different areas, as that's a great way to encourage continued, dynamic interaction with one another. And share the Christmas love! If you have already made one top comment post, go tag someone else. Threadhopping is also EXTREMELY encouraged, since parties are all about mingling.

There will be a lot of extra little Christmas adventures, for those who get caught up in the holidays. And I wanted to take some time to explain some of the perks of celebrating Christmas, when there is a lot of magic in the air.

Interested RPers can sign up to give/receive a Secret Santa gift in this sub-thread. You can have a maximum of THREE muses to participate in this special event. Please post all your selected muses in one response, so it is easier to track.

All Secret Santa gifts will be assigned using a Random Generator, so no one will know who is sending them a gift.

A secondary OOC post will be made on Monday, December 11, with screened comments, where participants can post links/descriptions of their gifts. You will have ONE week to post your gifts in this secondary post.

We encourage all participants to be hush-hush about whose name they received.

Since this is Nexus Secret Santa, we encourage all gift givers to be creative, and see what they can find, without breaking the bank.

Your character is free to give other Christmas gifts to people they care about -- HOWEVER, please do not deliver your Secret Santa gift. That will be handled by the Secret Santa moderator.

Most participants who take one of the Christmas Crackers, will get one of the 10 best Christmas Crackers. These range from booze-filled treats, joker Christmas Crackers, Meri Meri crackers, puzzle and game-filled crackers, and so much more.

You can choose to pick out the Christmas Cracker of your choice... or let a random number generator tell you which cracker your Muse receives. The bonus of using a random number generator is that a few lucky recipients will receive a Magical Christmas Cracker!

Time to get your design on. Visit a handy Christmas sweater generator to create the sweater that your Muse gets from the never-ending rack.

Your character won't be forced to wear the sweater... but if they choose to, the magical sweater keeps them warm, without being hot. And is resistent to any food stains!

If an unlucky person steps underneath the Mistletoe, they will find that they are magically stuck to the spot, until they can find someone to kiss them.

The person can flail around as much as they want, since their arms and upper body is free from the spell. But they won't be able to move their feet from the spot, until they follow the Mistletoe tradition of getting kissed.

And if two people get stuck under the same mistletoe, they will have to kiss eachother -- no matter how they feel about each other.

The kiss can be platonic, familial, or even romantic. A kiss on the hand won't cut it though! But kisses on the cheek will be considered worthy.

Feel free to discuss any Mistletoe encounters here! Or save them as a surprise!

For the Secret Santa thing, to clarify, if your Muse would want to seek out who gave them a present they're free to try and sleuth it out, right?

We just want people OOC to keep quiet so that everyone is properly surprised!
