Name: Surname is Weatherhill, he keeps his birth first name private to the best of his ability. Nickname: Harrowheart (His Scourge name) Age: Died at 26, currently... 33? It can be difficult to gauge timelines with Warcraft. Sex: Male Race: Human/Worgen, undead Sexual Orientation: Bisexual Socioeconomic level as a child: Rural lower class Socioeconomic level as an adult: ??? Irrelevant? This is a more difficult question than I guessed! He's sort of outside the class system, closest alignment would be Poor. Birth date: June 22nd (The day I created him!) Birth place: His family home in Westfall, Kingdom of Stormwind, Azeroth Current residence: Having a home isn’t necessary for him, as he isn’t obligated to sleep. His family lives in Ixis Naugus’ tower in the Nexus and he often stays with them. His ‘home’ on Azeroth could be considered Acherus, the Ebon Hold, the death knights’ ziggurat. Technically he does still own a one-room shack near the mountains of Westfall. Occupation: Knight of the Ebon Blade, a duty he performs seriously and with pride, though he is tempted to spend more time in the Nexus than on Azeroth. Title/Rank: His Scourge title was The Converter. While some death knights who knew him in the Scourge still refer to him that way, he prefers to be called simply Harrowheart. He hasn’t offered that title to anyone in the Nexus. Hobbies/Pastimes: Gardening and plant grafting, reading to the best of his ability. Recently, movie-watching, learning about Earth culture. Talents/Skills/Powers: In life he found that he had a talent as a sharpshooter. He’d gotten some practice with a hunting rifle growing up. After joining the Stormwind Army to serve in Outland he continued to practice his aim and eventually excelled from rifleman to sniper. It was a role that fit him well emotionally, because he preferred to be apart from others and struggled with social interaction. It isolated him further, but at the time he thought it was for the best. Theoretically he’s still a fine shot with a rifle, but he hasn’t taken up a gun in half a decade at least.
He had no proficiency for magic at all before his undeath, but as a death knight he was raised with a powerful, innate talent for physical necromancy. He’s not capable of summoning spirits, though he can pull souls from beyond the veil into bodies to create sentient zombies and even other death knights. He can take control of lesser undead (even sentient ones!) and command a few dozen risen bodies at a time. Shadow magic comes naturally to him and he can use it to heal undead, conjure shadow-construct beetles, and infect people with magical, Shadow-based illnesses.
He’s learned some ice magic as a way to be more socially acceptable to the living, but it doesn’t extend much farther than gusts of icy wind, icy spikes from the ground, frostwalking across water, and making simple ice constructs like chainlinks or fists. He’s trying to refine his skills with frost magic by creating unmelting figurines of ice, but that’s for show more than anything.
Past History
Hometown: TOWNLESS. Grew up on his family’s farm in Northeastern Westfall a few miles from the dunes near the sea. First Memory: (One which I did not just cook up, but have been waiting to share for ages and never got the chance) Being very young and trying to pet a goat for the first time. The goat took a bite of his shirt and he ran away absolutely bawling. Didn’t like goats for years. Most important childhood event that still affects him/her + Why/How: Growing up and sharing his personal struggles with his sister, Anna. He felt obligated to protect her from her own growing mental disorder, which was of course beyond the scope of a young boy going through puberty and growing into adulthood while he dealt with his own issues. They have an incredibly tense relationship in the present because she feels that his decision to join the army was him consciously trying to abandon her. Other memories/events that still affects him/her and why/how: Sometimes he still thinks back on his pre-death time in the Stormwind army. The pain and destruction and unnatural magic he was exposed to in Outland and the fear he felt as a result return to the front of his mind and remind him of a fear he can’t quite overcome despite the distance. Past failures s/he would be embarrassed to have people know about and why: The circumstances surrounding his death. A single person in the Nexus knows this, and now that they know he can’t quite shake the sense of shame he feels around them. Biggest role model: His wonderful brother Lawrence. Why? Lawrence is his oldest brother, mysterious and wise, funny (in his opinion!), quiet and thoughtful in private, and there’s always been something powerful about being praised by the grumpy older sibling. He wishes he could care less like Lawrence does. Biggest challenge from childhood: Aside from his struggles with his sister, food scarcity was a real problem. His family was lucky enough to have never gone hungry, but the very real possibility of it loomed over their heads throughout his youth. Physical Characteristics
Height: 6’ 3”? Or 6’ 2”. I should know this, and yet. Weight: I’m bad at weight numbers. He’s physically fit and muscular, so denser than he looks. Posture: Generally stands straight, but does the Tall People Neck Slump when speaking with short people. Build: Broadly muscular. Far from lumberjack wide, but thicker than a swimmer’s build. Skin: Once suntanned white, now deathly pale. His extremities are chilly blue and his larger, shallower veins are very visible through his skin as dark blue lines. Hair: Blonde, short. His facial hair is clean-shaven except for his sideburns. He has sparse hair on his chest, thicker near his navel. Eyes: Once dark brown, now cyan and glowing with white lights where his pupils and irises once were. Describe their smile: He smiles all the time! Usually warm and friendly, but he’s got a smile for every occasion. Tattoos/Scars? No tattoos, but plenty of scars. His entire back and the sides of his neck are a briar patch of raised scars, his souvenir from being mauled by a feral worgen. He was quickly healed with the Holy Light, which saved his life if not his skin. Generally he bandages his neck so that people don’t have to see the wolf-tooth scars and slashes on his neck. Glasses/Contacts? I joke with Viatorus’ mun so often about Harrowheart wearing glasses as he fails to work in an office environment that I’m really starting to warm up to the idea... But of course there’s no reason for him to need them. Left/Right handed? Floating handed, haw haw. He’s right handed! Distinguishing features: His entire everything. His runeblade(s), certainly – a haunted broadsword which can magically split into two single-handed swords. His severed hands, too! Sometimes he wraps them and appears mostly normal, sometimes he lets them float around. He can control them completely, but he has no idea how far the magic functions. They can’t lift much weight (a few pounds, really) and mostly function as a way for him to cast magic while he wields his swords strapped to his forearms. Who does s/he take after; mother or father? Physically, father. Personality-wise, mother. He loves them both equally, but he spent more time with his mother as a child and is slightly closer to her. Style (Elegant, shabby, etc): He wears khaki cargo shorts... He has no style... (Ages ago I made this image for... Some reason. This is what he wears. Incidentally, he used to wear a stupid hat on Azeroth.) How does s/he dress or what do they typically wear? See above! He also likes logo shirts with strange sayings. Other outfits one might find in their wardrobe: A suit of armor! His Ebon Knight attire. All of my art of it are very old, and as much as I am loathe to do it... Here’s an example of the in-game model. He wears a red cape with it, because he has no idea how to match colors and because it makes him feel evil. Jewelry: None! He’s not really into jewelry. He especially never wants to get any piercings. Other accessories: None. Weapons: Runeblades! Health: Dead, but doing pretty well for a dead man! He was resurrected shortly after his death and didn’t have time to decay. Any damage he takes will eventually heal, returning him to his form as of resurrection. Hygiene: He’s clean and he likes it that way! He loves to take baths. He concerns himself with keeping up appearances and is terrified of bugs burrowing into him some day, so he cares for himself very well. Smelling pleasant is something he’d like to achieve someday, but he can’t stop smoking and ruining it. Physical Flaws: Cold hands. Cold everything. Also, dead. He’s uncertain whether or not being a worgen counts as a flaw. Physical Qualities: Tall, muscular, physically powerful.
