nc_ooc | Secret Santa Signups + New LOL/Holiday Sticky Policy

First and foremost: There's going to be a Secret Santa giveaway thread in the Nexus! It wouldn't be the holiday season without ill-thought-out multiversal gifts, would it? Of course this doesn't stop you all from making personal gift-giving threads on your own journals, and this Secret Santa is entirely optional. However, it is opt-in, not opt-out, which means we need signups.

Please comment below with the characters you'd like entered into the event. If signing up for multiple characters, link* all of their journals in your post. There is no upper limit to the number of characters who can participate, so go hog wild, but be sure you can follow through with gift ideas if you sign up a lot of characters! We will be using a random generator to pair everyone up, and we will have backup plans if anyone has to bow out.

EDIT: Deadline for signups will be December 20th, which gives you five (5) fat days to get a post in. If anyone is away from their computers and signs up late we will gladly accommodate, but otherwise try to get in by the 20th. Assignments will go out the 21st as will the event thread! /end edit

Now, as for the matter of the Stickies: We're going to test run a new sticky concept for LOLs and holiday/seasonal events. We want to be sure special events get the recognition they need and assure that people who come late realize the event is still active even when it would otherwise have been pushed down on the page. No time period for how long these stickies will last is set in stone, and it will probably take some trial and error for us to get a good read on how long to leave stickies up. Generally it will probably be on a case-by-case basis depending on the type of event. For example, a community-wide LOL event may be stickied for longer than a Holiday-themed event like the Halloween house, while a seasonal event may last even longer.
